This seminar brings together listed companies and institutional investors to examine the evolving expectations, risks and responsibilities associated with managing modern slavery risks in global supply chains and investment portfolios.

Against a backdrop of evolving legislative requirements in Australia and overseas and heightened regulatory scrutiny, investor stewardship expectations and community concern, the seminar practically explored how organisations can move beyond compliance with the Australian Modern Slavery Act to strengthen modern slavery governance and due diligence and support real‑world outcomes for vulnerable workers.

Sessions featured investors and business practitioners who addressed:  

• the implications of emerging global and domestic developments for Australian companies and investors
• practical challenges in meaningfully identifying and responding to modern slavery risks, including real world examples of remediation and lessons learned, and
• the role of boards, executives and investors in driving accountability and continuous improvement.
