The Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) welcomes the release of the ASX’s consultation on potential changes to listing rules governing shareholder approval requirements and admission status.
Ensuring shareholders have a voice in material corporate actions is fundamental to fair, transparent and trusted markets. ACSI supports efforts to close the loophole in the current listing rules that have allowed dilutive transactions to occur without a shareholder vote.
“We welcome the ASX’s recognition of investor concerns and its willingness to engage on this important issue. The key principle is that shareholders should have a vote on company changing transactions which cause significant dilution of their interests,” ACSI CEO Louise Davidson said.
