The Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) has pledged its support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart and its call for the establishment of a First Nations voice in the constitution.
ACSI joins a growing group of supporting organisations along with thousands more in the broader community who have answered the important invitation to support the Uluru Statement.
CEO Louise Davidson who signed the pledge on ACSI’s behalf, said:
“ACSI recognises the importance of the Uluru Statement which has been developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and provides a pathway for change and structural reform.
“ACSI supports the call for the establishment of a First Nations Voice enshrined in the Constitution.
“We support the vision outlined in the statement and the call for a Makarrata Commission to supervise a process of agreement-making between governments and First Nations, and truth-telling about our history.
“In embracing the statement we hope to see reforms that empower I First Nations people and ensure their voices are heard.”, she said.
