ACSI Notice of Appointments - New President & Deputy President Announced

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

 

I am delighted to advise that Gerard Noonan has today been appointed as the new President of ACSI, and Trish Donohue is the new Deputy President.

 

Gerard is Chairman of the $3 billion industry superannuation (pension) fund, Media Super, which serves journalists and the wider media arts and entertainment industries and he has served for the past year as ACSI’s Deputy President.

 

Gerard’s career as a journalist spans more than 30 years at the highest levels of Australian media. He is a former senior writer at the Sydney Morning Herald and was editor of the Australian Financial Review for five years into the early 1990’s. The AFR is Australia’s equivalent of the UK’s The Financial Times He was awarded The Walkley Award for outstanding contribution to journalism in 2008, the ultimate accolade in Australian journalism. In 2006, he was received the Award of Trustee of the year from the Institute of Trustees.


He is the long-standing chair of Media Super, reflecting a deep involvement in the development of not-for-profit superannuation in Australia and is currently the President of the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees  .He was appointed to the board of the Australian Government’s advisory body, Innovation Australia, in 2009 and chairs IA’s Venture Capital Committee. He is also on the board of the Foundation for Public Journalism.

 

Trish Donohue is the Executive Manager of Investments for Cbus Superannuation Fund which serves the building and construction industry. She has been an ACSI Committee member for some years and  a constant participant in the formulation of ACSI’s policies and ESG Guidelines.

 

Trish has managed Cbus’ investments since 2000. The fund invests some $17 billion in listed and unlisted assets in Australian and globally. Before joining Cbus, Trish worked at Mercers for 11 years as an actuarial analyst and later as an Investment Consultant to superannuation funds.
