ACSI's engagement service is highly valued by our members and an integral part of our business. Our engagement activities are undertaken with the objective of maximising shareholder value, minimising risks and increasing returns.

“Our confidence as an investor is increased when companies engage with ACSI and display a commitment to transparency and good governance practices.”

David Atkin, CEO, Cbus

ACSI promotes constructive dialogue and engagement with companies on behalf of our member super funds.  Our philosophy and approach is clearly outlined in our guidelines.

Where ACSI has identified a matter of governance concern, we will contact the company to constructively discuss relevant material governance issues.

Our measure of success in engagement with companies is to clearly articulate to companies the expectations of investors. In doing so, positive company responses to lifting their approach to corporate governance ultimately attracts confidence and ongoing investment in a company.

“Successful engagement, however, requires more than considered voting. It should also include: maintaining dialogue with the board on governance policies in order to address concerns before they become critical; supporting the company in respect of good governance; and consulting other investors and local investment associations where appropriate.”
